PRAYER POINTS:
- Paul encourages us to examine ourselves (our motives, our actions, and our current condition of our heart) to see whether we have Jesus Christ in us (2 Corinthians 13:1-6). Even Paul himself would examine and discipline his body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise he fears that he might be disqualified after preaching to others (1 Corinthians 9:27). One way to test ourselves is to check for the evidence of the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives. Do we have the love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control in us(Galatians 5:22-23)? Jesus confirmed that his disciples are recognized by their fruits. Let us examine our spiritual conditions, then repent and return to the Lord. Make this our prayer as David did, “Search me O God, and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting (Psalm 139:22-24).
- Moses gives instructions to God’s people regarding the selection of God’s army in the days of the battle. He orders to send home those who are afraid and worried before they would frighten and discourage the rest of the army (Deuteronomy 20:8). Apparently the size of the army of God does not really matter. What matters is that whether the Lord is with us and whether we can trust in His vision and promises. Pray for undivided faith and courage in the Lord. Pray for courage to trust in the Lord’s promise. Pray that we can fix our eyes on Him even in the midst of the fight. Our vision, our undivided faith and our courage can affect others in the team, and so as the frightening spirit; because fear paralyzes us. Let us spread faith and not fear within the army of the Lord Almighty. Let us prepare ourselves to win in the name of the Lord.
- Consider our Kingdom work throughout the week: are we multiplying disciple-makers? Or are we laboring in vain? How intentional are we in disciple-making? Are we teaching simple, reproductive tools? Are we focusing on the depth over breadth by pouring deeply to a few who are faithful and teachable? Are we training teachers and preparing them to teach? Or are we training merely students whose expectation is to absorb and learn? Ask the Lord to give us wisdom so that we can be more effective in our daily efforts towards multiplication.
- Pray for healthy, reproductive simple churches in our area, within our network and across the networks. Pray that these simple churches would serve as an example to those who are seeking a genuine faith community.
- Pray for humility and trust among our co-laborers. Pray that we would be open to share ideas and resources across networks. Pray that we would be able to model well how to love God, love others and make disciples from the micro level to the macro level.
