Monday Weekly Prayer 7.19.2021

PRAYER POINTS:

  1. Pray that we would be true worshippers of the Lord who worship the Father in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24), for our Father seeks those who would worship Him that way. Worship is a lifestyle, or better yet, worship is our life. It’s not about coming once a week to sing some touching songs that would make us feel good. It’s about honoring God as the One and Only in our lives, and obeying and submitting completely to Him as a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1)—our thoughts, our minds, our hearts, our desires, our joy, our pain, our struggles, our past, our future… because God desires our hearts. Let us offer our true self to Him from the inside out and give Him the glory that He deserves, for this is the kind of worshippers He seeks.
  2. The Word of God is alive and powerful. It is the two-edged sword that cuts between soul and spirit and exposes our innermost thoughts and desires (Hebrews 4:12). Pray that the Word of God would be the ultimate guide and authority of the lives of His disciples. It is only by honoring His Word that we are able to see lives transformed. Pray that His Word would not only impact our lives but that it would also change the lives of our disciples and our disciples’ disciples. Pray that our communities would also be transformed by the Word. May the Word be the guide and authority of our communities and may the power of the Word be manifested in our hearts and in all nooks and crannies of our society.
  3. Jesus can empathize with our weaknesses because He is not only fully God, but also fully Man. Just like any human beings, Jesus have been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet He did not sin (Hebrews 4:15). What does that mean to us? It means that He is not just the Almighty God who are all perfect and powerful, but that He is also the complete human who understands our struggles, our weaknesses and our temptation. He has been there and done that, and He has overcome. So if Jesus as Man can overcome, so can we! His triumph over temptation gave us hope. By His grace we can also overcome! Pray that we would not rely on our flesh and willpower. Let us bring our weaknesses to Him. Let us approach His throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need (Hebrews‬ ‭4:16‬).
  4. Pray for God to send out more servant leaders to pioneer the Kingdom work in different people groups, cities and communities (name your own communities or people groups). Pray that the Kingdom Movement would rapidly gain traction in our respective communities.
  5. Pray for God to protect the growth of our new disciples. Pray that God would keep them away from the enemy’s attacks and pray that He would remove all distractions in their lives that would lead them astray. Pray that they would grow in the Word and in their obedience to the call.
