Monday Weekly Prayer 7.26.2021

PRAYER POINTS:

  1. Gideon was planning to take 32,000 warriors to fight the massive Midianites army. The Midianites army were as many as a swarm of locusts! But the Lord told Gideon that even with 32000 warriors are way too many. He didn’t want the Israelites to boast that they fought and won the battle with their own strength (Judge 7:2). So the Lord reduced Gideon’s troops to 300 men and promised to rescue them and give them victory. The result? Of course the Lord has delivered them from the hands of their enemies as promised. God always uses a radical few to fight massive armies. The early church began with only 12, but they have turned the world upside down in just 100 years! Pray that God would use us again as the radical few to impact our city and our state. The same God who gave Gideon the victory would use us again today. Pray that we would rely on His strength and not ours so that His name would be glorified.
  2. The Lord ordered Gideon to tell the people that whoever is timid or afraid may go home. As a result, 22,000 out of 32,000 went home, leaving only 10,000 (Judges 7:3). And eventually only 300 remained. Our Lord only recruits those who are bold and couragous to join His team, because they are the ones who would focus their eyes on Our Almighty God who saves! Pray for boldness for His disciples to witness and to train. Pray that we would be bold in the name of Jesus to triumph over our enemies and to bring souls from darkness to light.
  3. Pray that we would be the true church of Jesus Christ. Pray that we would be able to build trust for each other as a church family as we embrace vulnerability and openness. Pray that we would experience true fellowship as we learn to hold each other accountable and to build up each other in love and truth. Pray that we would be known for being a genuine community of Christ Jesus Our Lord.
  4. Pray that as a church family we would strengthen one another and encourage one another in faith. Pray that we would strive to be keepers of one another so that we will not be shaken by the troubles and storms that are coming our way (1 Thessalonians 3:3). Pray that we would support each other as the true church of Jesus Christ especially in times of hardships.
  5. Pray that we would be united under the same vision for His Kingdom. Pray that God would remove our pride, self-righteousness and prejudice. Pray that we would lay down our labels and names and unite as one for Kingdom’s sake. Pray that we would all be in the “Kingdom’s Team”. Pray that we would focus on the ultimate task and strive to do everything to prepare for the Lord’s return.
